Stickam.Com Monetizes Live Video Streaming

Cited: MarketWire & redOrbit Retrieved: 6/4/09

Stickam.com, the first and largest Web site dedicated to live interactive video streaming, today introduced the beta version of PayPerLive, a new service that allows anyone with a computer, Web cam and Internet connection to host and charge for live events on a personalized, live video streaming Web site. As part of today’s launch, Stickam.com is accepting applications for beta testers. Through the platform, anyone, such as professionals and entertainers, can open up their events to the world by selling tickets to customers or fans for Internet-based live events. Unlike other costly online alternatives, PayPerLive is a do-it-yourself solution that provides users with their own Web site and enables them to generate revenue through event attendance. Comedians, consultants, bands, alumni associations, teachers and fundraisers can all make use of this service to grow their business, reach new and existing members and create an additional source of income.

“We are excited to allow groups and individuals to leverage our live streaming platform to host fun and informative events,” said Steven Fruchter, Stickam.com CEO. “PayPerLive provides another method to increase an organization’s bottom line as well as reach a broader audience. Our platform offers a simple-to-set-up site with a complete and easy-to-use tool set.”
It takes less than 10 minutes for users to be up and running on PayPerLive with a personalized Web site. Through the service, users can send email updates to their member base, keep track of ticket sales and receive streaming statistics from their events. They can also use Google Analytics(TM) to track Web site viewership, enabling the discovery of useful metrics about their page ranking and visitors.
PayPerLive users can determine the price for their live streaming events, with all transactions facilitated through PayPal. The company will implement a tiered revenue-sharing program, starting with Stickam.com receiving 25 percent of the profits from user-hosted events. For more information or to sign up to test the beta, please visit www.payperlive.com.
